DEFINING MOMENTS
(Excerpt from Defining Moments, Lois Wolfe-Morgan, August 2001)

  • Defining Moments find there way into our lives when:

We role model and demonstrate leadership

We look into the eyes of a child and see hope and
Look into the face of our senior citizens and see peace and wisdom

Smile genuinely for no reason at all and someone smiles back
Reach across to another (not up or down) but across and provide comfort and encouragement
Share a thought, an idea, an emotion, a warmth that touches a mind, a heart, a soul

We seek to learn and then teach and mentor and
When we are willing to learn and be mentored

We learn to listen not with your ears alone but with your total presence

We are not afraid to pray openly without fearing the point of view of others
We let the tears be shed in times of sadness and times of happiness

We find the heartbeat of the partnerships we choose (family, friendships, work and education) and are filled with joy

We release ourselves to invest in people worldwide because they have great value
We allow our heart to catch-up with our mind and our mind to catch-up with our heart!

And the ultimate defining moments of life occur when another person role models your dedication, love and genuine concern for others – consistently, persistently and on purpose!
